What’s Row Cup?

If you are lucky enough to be passionate about your sorority’s philanthropy event, take every opportunity to tell people all about it.

My very own chapter of Alpha Delta Pi is gearing up for its annual soccer tournament, Row Cup, which benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities.  The event is this Saturday, Feb. 22nd, at USC’s beautiful McAlister Field.  I really enjoyed putting on this event last year because I got to coach a fraternity, sell some awesome ADPI promo tees, and have fun raising money with my sisters!

Row Cup, as well as the organization it benefits, are what first sparked my interest in ADPI (I can still remember my big sis talking about it during recruitment!!).  To give you an idea of why Alpha Delta Pi chooses to support Ronald McDonald House Charities, please read this blurb from the ADPI national website:

Alpha Delta Pi has long been involved in philanthropies. At the Grand Convention in 1979, the convention body voted to adopt the Ronald McDonald House Charities (Children’s Oncology Services, Inc.) as the new national philanthropy. The Ronald McDonald Houses are located throughout the world near hospitals and provide a “home away from home” for children suffering from cancer and their families. Collegians and alumnae volunteer their time to work at the Ronald McDonald Houses and sponsor fundraising events for the houses. In 1987, Alpha Delta Pi was recognized by the Children’s Oncology Services, Inc. for having contributed over $2 million to the Ronald McDonald Houses.
